I helped out with the crafts again this year. Out of the 3 years I have helped with VBS, this was probably the least fun, craft-wise. The kids actually did very little creating and did more decorating something the adults had put together. Less stressful, yes. Not as exciting, yes.
Day 1: Cardboard person to color and decorate (God is wild about you.)
Day 2: Hand drum to decorate (God hears you.)
Day 3: Toilet paper binoculars already put together to decorate (God sees you.)
Day 4: Color a picture of something school related (God loves you no matter what.)
Day 5: (God gives you gifts.) Carnival!
I didn't snap very many pictures, though I took my camera each day.
This was taken on Day 4, coloring a picture.
The pastor's wife and I worked the cup relay which was fun for the kids. The kids had to fill a cup from the start buckets, hold it on top of their heads as they run down to the empty buckets. The goal was to be the one with the most water left at the end of the relay.
The kids especially enjoyed this one because it was a hot day and it was difficult to keep the water in the cup. Some kids "spilled" so much it looked like they had just come out of a pool!
Hubby worked a ring toss game. The kids got to keep the bottle of pop if their ring landed on one.
Eating hot dogs and munching on cotton candy.
There were other games too: a ball toss one, a fishing one, and a cake walk.
VBS this week was another blessing to having a church building of our own. The carnival was a great end to the week, too. I hope we do it again in the future!
Fun, fun, fun!
